New Plugin For Itunes..

iTunes SideKick v1.1.0 has been released... You can get it below.. ENJOY!!!!

Please read the Readme.txt for installation instructions.. They are very straight foward.. You simply put the .dll into the Plug-Ins dir.. Anyways..

WARNING:

Please remove any other "Always on Top" Mods/Plugins you may have before running iTunes with this plugin.. Who knows what will happen.. hehe..

WARNING:

Please make sure that you have "Show in System Tray" in the iTunes Advanced option menu checked.

Ok well thats it, Download Away... Report any bugz..

Works well except that the "Always on Top" dialogue may be missleading. Perhaps the dialogue should read "Always on Top in Mini mode".

ok thats been fixed.. Currently cleaning up my code.. Adding some error checking just in case.. If you all have any more ideas for this plugin, throw them out there.. I'd love to here em..

unfortunately I do not know much about the format of an M3u file list.. Not only that, but I'm not even sure how to get the current playlist from iTunes.. I will take a look at doing this for you but no promises.. iTunes does not use standard Windows controls except for its main window.. Everything you see in the window is completely SKINNED.. The listbox's aren't even controls.. They have no handles or anything like that.. You have a plain window and everything drawn dynamically on top of that..

There is an XML playlist to m3u converter that someone on here created. Perhaps there could be some way to transfer the name of an iTunes selected playlist and then call up the external program?

Thats what i was thinking, but the only way i would know of, would be a very slow process.. There is only so much iTunes lets you do.. You can get the current playing song but thats it really.. anyways.. I created a program they other day that can read the iTunes XML playlist.. From there I'm sure I could output to M3u but like you said, you want this feature from "within" iTunes..

Great plug-in i was angry with itunes without be able to minimize to systray

But i felt lack in one more thing, when the itunes are minimized, the icon on systray dont show the name of music when a i put the mouse over it.

Can you do this in your next plug-in´s version?

Yeah, sure and the external program works very well. It would just be much better if it could be integrated into iTunes.

Well i'll be releasing a new version of my plug-in.. I fixed up the user interface of the Plug-In and added a new feature.. It can now set the Opacity of the Mini-Mode Window.. Since iTunes is only for Windows 2k/XP, this feature will work for anyone running iTunes.. I'll release it later today, so look for it..

Well, I have added another feature to the plugin.. The tooltip text in the system tray of the iTunes icon is changed to the currently playing song.. hehe It's displayed like this, but I'm not sure if its the best way to display the info.. let me know..

Album: Album Name

Artist: Artist Name

Song: Song Name

Lemme know if it should contain less or more info.. Not much now, we are working with a tooltip..

Agreed. I wonder what apple was thinking "Hey, let make it so that you can see the Tray Icon but you still cant Minimize it to that icon, for it MUST stay in the taskbar as well!" Pa-lese! Thanks for the great plug-in!

Sounds good altough i dont see much functionality for it in my case... id prefer if it showed in the taskbar entry (winamp like...)
