[found] Itunes Win Opengl Plugin

http://www.jcode.org/

The iTunes for Windows SDK includes a single C example that renders using GDI under Windows. My plugin is loosely based on this example but uses OpenGL for rendering and I've removed all the Mac OS specific code and cleaned up the code quite a bit. The final code is quite clean and shows the basic stuff you need to do to get an OpenGL rendering context created in the iTunes visualization area.

It might not be the belle of the ball (the author admits to that...) but it runs amazingly fast! Maybe even too fast, and he offers up his source code (C++ for VS.NET 2003) so someone else might find it useful.

Come on! Don't be shy... take it for a spin, you know you want to! :D

Thanks for sharing! I got it and it's working fine for me. It's good to see these plugins emerging everyday (Y)

Hmm, I can't get it to work. I made a Plug-Ins directory, copied the dll into it, opened up iTunes and selected waveform under the visualization menu. When I turn the visualization on iTunes crashes. Am I doing something wrong?

Some Video Cards don't support Hardware OpenGL, therefore this may be the problem. There is always software OpenGL but its horribly slow..

Yeah I'm on a laptop so it's probably my mobile type card. Darn.

It should work even on a very basic OpenGL card, its just drawing a bunch of quads. If you email me (at jason@jcode.org) your system specs I can see if I can figure out why its crashing and fix it.

Good to know that plugins are being developed...

I like it alot and it is working perfectly.

I only concern ; is there anyway to slow it down it runs way too fast on my system.
