By far its the most identical ATM. As you see its not an image for the fonts and it definitely needs an update, however this will be implemented (hopefully) later sometime.

Practically these are the same fonts. In apple they are anti-aliased beautifully. Photoshoped.. :cry:

Don't blame MS for having crappy fonts, Apple patented the technique (gliph highlighting) and MS wouldn't want to steal Apples intellectual property.

So why doesn't Microsoft 'come up' with a 'similar' technique for smoothing fonts.
Keeping in mind they already have that in XP, they could just 'improve' the fonts.

I totally agree - even though there are >7,000 members in this community, I really doubt that MS is getting that many emails begging for the inclusion of anti-aliased fonts (even though they are visually amazing).
edit: Plus, if Microsoft copied EVERYTHING from Apple, what would that leave us to do?
Hopefully MS will include support for glyph anti-aliased fonts in Longhorn.

Try the following for fonts:
Although no font is a perfect match, using Lucida Grande size 10 with shadowing might work. Though I dont know how you guys code this and if it is possible to use shadows.
x=220 or 140 depending on what buttons you use.
Also when buttons are blue mouseover/pressed the shadow must also change colour so as not to show a grey type cast behind the font.
You might also get better (or rather more realistic) results using a Type1/OTF font instead of a TTF font, edges seem to not be as sharp with those (for example the WMPItunes included in StevieBM's WMP9 skin). TTF fonts in Windows take precedence over Type1's & OTF's of the same name.

Microsoft ClearType technology. Used for Laptops and desktop PC smoothens up fonts. I think. But I think it depends on the font..
