Cd-rom Desktop Icon

Does anyone know if there's a program available to make a CD-ROM icon appear on the Windows desktop when a CD is inserted (as on OS X). It would be best if the icon resembled the actual CD's autorun icon, but if it just showed up as the mac CD-ROM icon, that would be just as good.

There is one, but STFF will reveal it.

Also, as far as i'm concerned, nobody achieved that thing fully working without any XPizm in the way.

[clone] Also before i dig that story further more let me thank you for using "request" - however notice that EACH TIME YOU START A TOPIC/POST (topic is what we concern) you have the tags laid out for you beautifully below the text window.

All you do is choose one that fits the type of your title - and you're all set!

Since you're new here I'm just giving you heads up. Heads up also for the rules on every page at the top, if there are ones.

Please act accordingly next time, thank you (Y)

Sorry to double post but incase you didnt figure out what is STFF and what it does, its a great lil tool aqua-soft has been embracing for years.

You can check out what it does in HERE :harp:

Since you do have clear titling, Seems like you will be able to utilize that skill in STFF - It would be very benefitial :rule:

(dont forget to expand the time limitation to more than just 30 days obviously)

enjoy :who's your daddy:

guiness,

Did you bother to do a search of the site. This subject has been brought up many, many times in the past I am sure the threads are there if you take the time to look. So in the future if you want to ask something first please do a site search first. Repeat posts on old topics makes some members get angree. I am not one of them but the forum has this great search tool and it seems no one wants to use the thing and instead just re-posts old questions.

BTW there are several tools/utilities that can place the CD Rom icon on the desktop. But none of them have worked well in the past. For instance thay all place the CDs default icons on the desktop instead of your chosen CD icon. Meaning if you drop in the Windows XP CD you are going to get Microsofts installer icon on the desktop not a CD icon of your choice and no there is not way around this at this time that I know of. You can try Customiser XP. It can place the CD icon on the desktop. Its just not going to by like it is on a Macintosh. :(
