That respect thing under the members name on the left of a post.
What exactly is it? And if I change someone's respect level, do they see something showing I did it? I was gonna [-] respect of a mod here. But I was scared of the repercussions.

Please use the search function and use proper tags [Help]. These things can contribute to lowering ones respect rating.
you can disrespect a mod however with an admin its a different story - If their name starts with a "G" and ends with a "U" it is forbidden by law of the US federal government to lower a board's adminisrator's working respect value. Once its done a member is permanently banned, and along with his Email and IP he provided to the site, he gets reported to the FBI for further investigations.
Unless you can prove the staff either crapped on your keyboard, or they called you a nipple twister you are not allowed to do so.

Wizard: We appreciate your help in the community, but you can let us mods/admins handle the "petty" stuff like thread titles (ie. I love torturing the ****s). ![]()

But some of us like to release our anger at ****ies, and sniping over petty things like thread titles is actually very satisfying!
EDIT: Wuold their be repurcussions if we decreased mods respect?
@ludge: You were a ****ie once. Why make life difficult for others?
ignore contra's last comment to wizard.
Veterns, feel more than welcome to participate and help cases such as these.
the more you help like wizard did, the more you're respected by myself and the community.
Contra :nerd: didnt get his nerd-aid-doze of satisfaction for today, so try to understand him ![]()

<_< I Don't See A Respect Thing.
depends how you give respect to an admin, if its bad and stupid like "i hate you" you will get banned, you leave a comment that describes the reason your giving them it, like cause "he told me to let the mods do their job" then you can give them bad respect.
if you notice some idiots giving you bad respect for some stupid reason report it to "ME!" and they will get banned or restricted. no warnings.
caser- its only for certain forums.
no - report it to "JEF!"
What is the html so I can put it in my board?
Also, if someone gives you negative respect, dont just give them negative respect to be spiteful.
That causes lots of problems.

There are some forums in which you can't use the Respect feature- General Discussion is one of them.
