Kkmenu Docklet?

using moby now cause its way faster than OD, but one thing Im missing is OD's KKmenu docklet, ran so fast in docklet form, anyone know of a port? (of the one before it turned shareware) any other solutions besides the old kkmenu.exe which is too slow?

there is no support for docklets but you can set a shortcut to a folder that contain shortcut to the applications that you want (for example a shortcu to c:\documents and settigs\user\start menu\)

right clic on it and it popup a KKmenu like menu so that you can launch that applications that you want

hope it will help you, personally i use MD in association with ObjectBar (for the start menu and the system tray)

well I realize that would sort of work, except for the shortcuts would be program.lnk and having to right click instead of normal. plus KKmenu had alpha blending and AA'd fonts, scalable program icons, etc. maybe someone else knows of a solution?

these are features that can be requested, the selection of the behaviour of the shortcut (execute or popup)

for the alpha and the size of the font... do you realy use it?? i mean if you have the popup menu it's to read it an not to see through it... (sorry for the "through" i'm french and these kind of words.... marf)

the idea of selecting the behaviour of the shortcut can be useful!!

well alpha and font size are somewhat aesthetic, but still, isnt that why mobydock looks good, runs fast?

#70510

sure it is... it'll be slower if you add features like transparency... the font doesn't relly mater in that case

MB is in my opinion a very good dock, it's a good compromize between OD that is very customizable using docklets but SLOW, YZ that is not so reliable and too eavy for the system

MB rox and it can rox more!!

well I switched back after finding the kkmenu docklet again, its plenty fast, just not as "twitch-fast" like MD. but I cant go without a start menu like feature, so mobydock will be for, fanboys like you ;)

so mobydock will be for, fanboys like you ;)

or for someone that doesn't need a start menu in the dock :)

KKmenu isn't free?? is it?

#71319

true, not everyone is using a dock to replace the taskbar... but, no kkmenu isnt free anymore. it used to be, and thanks to the above poster, I have the older free version.

all right :)

i don't know if OD is under GPL but i don't think it's all right to sell a docklet made for a freeware...

never mind i don't use it :P:P:P
