[help]nvidia Driver Problems

Hey all,

I'm having a pain of a problem...

I'm running a GeForce 4 Ti4200 on my machine, and decided that it'd be a good idea to install the latest reference drivers from nVidia. All went well, I rebooted, and started to look at the display properties tab for nVidia "bits".

Anyway, I didn't change anything except resolution, refresh rate, and hiding the system tray icon, and hit apply. Suddenly, I got a system error of some sort (it was either in rundll32 or explorer, I think  ), and I thought I'd better reboot.

On rebooting, none of the nVidia control panel stuff loaded, and I couldn't access anything from the nVidia graphics tools.

After about an hour of uninstalling and reinstalling the previous few versions of the drivers, I'm no further - I'm stuck with using the MS reference driver or manually installing the driver in the 52.16 executable, but not getting any of the nVidia tools (which I need to use the TV out).

In short, any suggestions?

sh##... that or driver rollback, have you tried it? even try reinstalling an older version, it worked once for me... the latest drivers didnt gie me an increase in speed but hte ocntrary...

No system restore on Server 2003, and I've tried driver rollback and installing earlier versions (which also show nothing)...

I think I'm fuggered. >.<

Well, colour me stupid.

The drivers are perfectly fine. The problem was that I didn't have hardware acceleration set to "full" in the display properties.

Don't I look an idiot now?

To think, I reinstalled Windows because of that <_<
