Isight, Anyone Get The Mic To Work With Win?

I bought an iSight for my powerbook, works great with iChatAV, but I dont use aim. I dloaded the msn messenger version for the Mac, but it doesnt support video or audio. My brother and now a friend have also bought the iSight, but in windows the mic doesnt work and there doesnt seem to be any drivers. Anyone know if Apple is doing something about this?

Its a great cam, but I would hate to have to return it along with my friends for the toy-lookiung ones that are sold for pc's.

I've been looking for a way to get the iSight to work on Windows for ages, but no-one seems to have done it. Admittedly, I could shell out the cash for it and try to program a driver myself, but I really don't have the time or money to do either...

If someone were to get an iSight fully working on Windows, I'd certainly buy one. :D

It half works, video but no sound a there are no drivers to allow it yet. I've read that drivers can be written although it will probably have to be done by a windows developer. I haven't heard that Apple have any plans to write them.

Reportedly it works in Yahoo messanger and the standard win videoconferencing thing (can't recall the name, I deleted it). Anyone up for making sound drivers for it? :D

Like I said, I'd do it, but someone would have to give me an iSight and enough money to quit work (so that I have more time free to do uni work)...

Until that happens, I'll be unable to do it ;)

How much do you want to bet that it will work on Linux before Windows?

Theoretically it's possible, it's using Firewire that Windows knows of now. Most likely, some company will get rights or find a way and release a program that can work with Firewire cameras.

Wait, have you tried to get a program that curently supports Firewire cameras, I know there are a couple out there. Or is Apple using a poprietary codec?

It works in Windows under MSN Messenger 6 with no problem, but only video , not sound.
