I cannot seem to remember where this font is and how to replace/improve it.
the right click on the desktop, the file/edit menus, and many more of the general menus in Windows are this horrible and flat and skinny font.
Anyone know how or where to change it?
maybe this isn't what you're talking about, but you can change the whole system font in the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes
change the values in "MS Shell Dlg" and "MS Shell Dlg 2" to something else.
you could also turn on cleartype, and that might help. there's also an app that can allow you to change the contrast for fonts. changing that might make it look better also.
i don't think you can single out individual menu fonts, though. i read that in a virtualplastic thread here.
i may have misunderstood, but that's my interpretation.

desktop right click/properties>apperance>advanced>in the drop down select menu. This changes the right click desktop apperance, as well as explorer file/edit etc menus.
you said general menus right? if so, photo678's suggestion should change it, and changing the system font should change the font all over the os. it's odd that it doesn't work.
if you're talking about specific menus, it might be program-dependent.
sorry, but i've run out of ideas. hopefully someone else can offer suggestions. you could also try asking at virtualplastic for a hack, or i could ask for you. do you remember if it was a reghack or something else?

specifically which menus do you want to change the font of, I notice you posted a screen of itunes,, is that where you want to font in the menus. if so here is a creenie of the changes. Not sure why it wouldnt work for you
Duckie that font looks to me like it's LucidaGrande. Are you using WB? If you are, make sure that 'User Overrides' isn't forcing LucidaGrande onto the system.

excellent question......
i don't believe there's a global font size, just the type...change each dialog individually that you would want a different size.

They are in Open Type Format so you need Win XP to use them.
Duckie, ive experienced this problem myslef, it had something to do with cleartype as someone hinted above... if you use tweak xp (theres also a page oin micorsofts site in which you can do this too, i just dont have the link) to fine tweak the cleartype settings...
Im going to look for the link, thats what solved the problem in my computer...
