[debate] Respekt!

I have to say, I like this new "Respect" thingie that someone inducted here. It's a better hiearchy than the stars, I think. Even though I have a -1 (yes! :( , thank you contra  ), it makes me see what the heck I'm doing wrong. And that is exactly what we need here. A way that we can all grow and love eachother respectivly. :orgy:

BTW, I still think we need a larger orgy emoticon.

Edit: It was there. I guess a mod or admin can delete this thread if it's not permanent. :(

I was begining to like it.

You get another point from me for that statement! :D

#68028

I can't see the respect meter in this thread

i think its cheesy, but i'll probably get stuck with a slew of -'s for sayin so

#68053

Well, i think (As wizard said) it will be a different composite way of knowing poeple in the commmunity...

The problem is that it could arise the same kind of competition as having post count right under the avatar. Also, i forsee people getting back at other people for some point of view discrepancy or something by just adding a - and addin something like "you are an idiot because you dont like wearing briefs in spring" (ok, maybe not  )

Just a view...

if you see anyone post a stupid arse comment like that and give a bad or even a good rating, let me know asap, they will have no warning they will not pass go they will not collect 200$ go directed to jail :staffs here:

#68077

well this has its plus points n minus points.

Plus points : members will be much nicer n help more n this will increase the quality of the posts.

minus points : i think or should i say im sure, when 2 ppl get into an argument they will lower the each others respect level by saying whatever they feel bad or wrong abt the person.

question : theres a guy in here who i feel is very proud abt his work n keeps showing it by his posts. so should i lower his respect level by saying that? ;)

OK Then I have a question. Not all the threads have the Respect rating on them. Is this a bug or am I not seeing that pattern here.

#68098

Yeah, on Wizards respect rating, I was really just testing it, so thank you wizard. :D

But the comment is true, so watch the spamming. ;)

I turned it off for certain forums, so that people can no give someone a bad word, if they posted some stupid sh## in the general discussion cause thats what that forum is for

I feel special. At least that's what everyone keeps telling me. Constantly. And I will watch the spamming for now on.

Gotcha! I thought I was going crazy. Well, even more-so.

Wizard: Did you get my PM?

Lay off the purple text. ;)

Thanks.

#68127

This presents a golden opportunity for someone to make a Rodney Dangerfield reference. Could that someone be you?

#68163

Okay, this is what I was talking about in the other thread. And just to make it clear, I am not starting anything, but Contrasutra, eventhough it wasn't said rudely, why does Wizard need to lay off the purple text??? Why then is that function available on the posts?

#68170

Because he used it for EVERY SINGLE post. That gets annoying, and if we let everyone do it, we will have a technicolor board, and that might just be enough to get Duckie's vein in his head to pop.

#68171

Okay, I see your point. My apologies. :D

Are you serious or just pulling my leg? :worried:

I'm sorry that I'm not in a sarcastic observant mind set right now.

I think to be fair I'll just quit the color post. :order:

For Clockwise:

"I Tell ya, I ain't get no respect, in fact, if respect had a scale, I'd be negative one!" (yanks tie)

;)

#68205

The respect-o-meter sucks. What is this, Ebay? So we can expect a high + rating for like Iceman or Kevin or JairoB or some Mods/Admin, but what possible meaning does this hold for regualar members? People praising and pissing on one-another. Sounds balls to me. Save your praise and criticisms for the forums and PMs, why the need for this meaningless public respect bullsh1t? Please remove this superfluous and divisive crap.

#68209

I ain't got no repect.

Seems a bit iffy to me, this whole concept, but a trial run is necessary before it should be judged. Interesting idea. I can't wait to see how well it works. ;)

#68212

This "respect" thing isnt THAT important.

We won't ban anyone just because they have a low rating. Its just so new comers can get the general idea of who is respected, without resorting to silly badges.

YES, its like eBay. I like eBay's system, you know you're not getting ripped off. Would you buy something from someone with a negative 100 rating?

And Admins will change it if lots of people post stupid "respect"s.
