[release] Itunes Docklet V0.1

Hi everyone,

Now you can control your iTunes application using this docklet. You can open/hide/close the application; and use the play/pause/stop/next/prev controls.

I am currently working on getting the other features into the docklet, or even

better, use the same iTune's tray icon menu as part of the docklet. Unfortunately, none of this is documented, so I have to keep trying!

Warning: This program is still beta and it is buggy! Use it for testing purposes

only.

Albeik: Congrates. I love the show and hide iTunes + the basic play stop, forward and reverse song + close iTunes functions.

It's a very useful docklet, as many would have agreed.

You have just made my dock more functional, than it is before.

I can't believe I read over this! I've been waiting for a docklet for iTunes. Thank you very much.

How possible is it for us to have an ini file for adding or removing those shortcuts/menu items we would use in this great new docklet?

Meaning that many will ask for less options, while the others will want more...

Personally, I'd like all if the options in the right click menu from the tray icon, but that's just me.

Just theorizing, so if not, i understand.

I have worked extra on this today to try to see if I can get the iTunes menu hooked in within the docklet. I have "somewhat" was successful in doing so, as you can see from the preview below:

itunes0.11.gif

However, currently, to achieve such a result, certain things need to be setup correctly:

- The iTunes icon loaded on the system tray has to be the 1st icon on the tray

- The taskbar settings must have the "Hide inactive icons" disabled, to prevent the iTunes icon from disappearing

Becuase Apple does not have any documentation on how to communicate with iTunes, I have to work on "tricking" iTunes to think that someone right-clicked the itunes icon on the system tray. However, I need to know where the icon is loaded in the system tray to simulate the right-click at the right place. Currently, I am defaulting to the first icon, while I continue my research. Moreover, when you have iTunes's icon inactive, the taskbar will hide it, in which case, will not work.

I am not realeasing this version of the docklet mainly because its not a good solution. I am posting this information just to update everyone on my progress. I think I'll have to turn around and think of a better way to grab or even figure out the other "hidden" messages to communicate with iTunes.

At any rate, thanks everyone for your kind comments, support and the "repsect" points!! I really appreciate it! :)

PS: Object Dock ports won't be availbale until I get more free time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
