Windowblinds 4.19 On Sds

New:

Toolbar Icon skinning (Y'z Toolbar)

Replacement of progress animations (I assume it's the file copy dialog boxes in Explorer, and maybe Internet Explorer download dialogs too).

Wouldn't those two new features really help aqua skinning eh? Do away with Y'z toolbar and reshacking shell32.dll at the same time.

It also has Windows 98/Me support for all those in the dark ages.

I can't wait until it comes out of beta.

No doubt here that Stardock is gonna take to another level very soon with big time updates to all the Major programs on ObjectDesktop.I am stoked--Running most everything here with very satisfying results.I can only hope that some of the fantastic Visual Styles Artist's might start kickin' a few out.Very good news indeed.

stardock is looking exponentaly better with each release.

yeah, that sounds good, might eventually be able to customize toobar icons so that we can get the crowded triple views button from mac.

Also, their new skinstudio looks pretty sweet, checked it out for a month and converting msstyles over was dead easy. Hopefully you can import msstyles as substyles in the released version too.

I hope they reintegrate window(just the window, not the titlebar, though if they could ad that i'd love it) transparency in next windowblinds. I've been seriously wanting that for per application settings.

Oh, and stable photoshop 7 compatibility would be really nice too.

I've never had any problems with Photoshop 7 and Windowblinds 4, realitybath, what versions were you using?

WindowFX will do full window transpearency on 2K/XP/2K3.

wb 4 build 100.

ps 7.0

photoshop just 'stutters' as if its having problems refreshing its wb skins. Really sticks sometimes when using sliders. I just upgraded from 6.0, so i haven't been on it too much, but its much worse than on 6.0. 6 would just rarely crash bc of wb.

Stutter happens more in 7 when ps has been open for awhile(ie. more memory load due to remembered states), or if you have an extremely large file open.

i've heard a couple of others post about the 7 issue too, so others are having it.

Not that much of a deal, though if 7 crashes on me because of wb(hasn't happened yet) i'll just exclude it.

And on Winfx, yeah, i've got that, but i really don't like 'full' transparency... i just want the actual window(not the titlebar-i don't mean the taskbar, i mean each windows titlebar) semi transparent. I'm pretty sure this was in wb 3 and then dropped for 4.

There's actually a desktopx theme that still does this for some menus, which is a good example, but i can't remember what its called(its green and glass). Per window component transparency would be cool.

Speaking of StarDock products, does anyone have a newer beta of SkinStudio 4.0?

The one on the skinstudio.net page is old and has expired on my system. <_<

I don't think there is a new beta yet - you'd think they would update it before it time bombs. Try posting on Wincustomize.com - Frogboy might notice.

SkinStudio is still on their private Internal builds. The latest is 3.96c which includes IconDeveloper/IconSkinner. I don't know when they will come out with the next demo version.

I don't think the animation and toolbar skinning works yet. Look at the build history below:

10/22/03

I have backleveled the XP-dll's in this to the 4.10a level. Too many spurious little issues. The 9x files are still new and this build continues to support those platforms.

4.19

-----

-First beta build adding support for 9x (including trackbars)

-Includes SmartPainting support for 9x

-Ignore the animation/toolbar options in wbconfig.exe in this

build, those will be added in a future beta as we build to 4.2.
