Aqua-Soft Forumsif i wanted to create a forum for cheap. how would i do it and what software should i use (i noticed that aqua-soft is run by invision power boards, would that works for me) please i need to know

You could use Invision Power Board, its free.
You could also use phpbb, and many others.
You need a host usually with PHP and MySQL.
A great host for you would be www.siteflip.com it's what i've been using for several months now and I am very impressed. It comes with PHPBB AND Invision already installed so you can set them up with one click, plus the whole hosting package is less than $1 per month. Very Nice
if you need a host i could give you contact info for aquasofts host, it will help us out 
yea we using ibf, maybe plan to move back to vbulletin in the "near" future,

I just got invision power board and extracted it to a folder, i got smart ftp also but i dont know what to do i am an idiot at this stuff! Does anybody know how i can get my board running?
You need:
1. Apache or another web server set up
2. MySQL set up
3. PHP set up
You usually extract the folder into your "web root" folder, like mine is /home/httpd/html
Not sure though, read the directions.

www.eniki.com is also a great host. a little less and some better addon options.

I've always liked vBulletin, it's just nobody ever changes those God ugly default images that come with it.

Hey jed, I like your theme. I just have a few simple suggestions. First, for the links that you have along the top, could you instead have the table cells be the link and have the cell background color change on mousein and mouseout? I can give you the Javascript if you don't know how to do that. I don't like the line underneath mainly, it just makes it too ugly and conflicts with the border. Also the border around the mini "forms" (login, members) is not showing up. I know that you didn't ask my opinion, but I kinda like to stick my nose into other people's buisness to give it a nice look that everyone will be amazed.
god yes i remember those days, were the best of aquasoft,
everyone loved that skin aswell.
Valkyre did one sweet job on it,
maybe this weekend i'll port that over to ibf
