Hi, I'm just wondering in which file is the "My Document" icon located (seen in the "save as" dialogue).
Help With Icon Replacement....
if you mean the one on the open save dialogs... its on teh shell32.dll in teh system folder, altough some older versions of office seem to take it directly from mydocs.dll or explorer.exe
I couldn't find it either one of those files =(.
c:\windows\system ???? theyre there... or just do a plain search
Explorer is in c:\windows
Mydocs.dll dont remember exactly but somewhere in those two...
My suggestion do a searh and youll find them
I find those files easily... actually I was just finish editing all 3 of them, and I noticed that the "My Document" hasn't changed (after restarting).
are you using replacer to edit those files or somtething of that sort? because if you just hack them and save tehm and restar its never goign to work because windows has backup of those files for protection.
Check out other threads on how to replace system files
I'm using Reshack, and everything I edited changed but My Documents.
Here's a picture of what I mean...

(Used Croc's installer, but edited mydocs.dll, shell32.dll and explorer.exe afterwards)
yes, reshack, but replacer
reshack hacks the system files and saves them but doesnt actually change them so windows will automatically replace whatever has changed in the "faulty" (your recently hacked) file so youll be back at ground 0.
As said, check the system file replacement threads on teh board its been talked about too many times to count...
I'm really happy you're giving me a hand in this, but seriously I'm not that big of a ****ie to not know how to replace system files. My system files got replace because everything that I changed had changed after I restarted my computer. I rechecked the files in my system32 folder, and they all have the icons I replace, and also the backup folder (I386, dllcache has the changed files also).
hmm if youve used crock installer maybe tehre are more instances of my documents in some other dlls... its weird tough, have you changed the my documents folder icon from display properties and then customize desktop?
In my case it wouldnt change with shell32dll so i modified mydocs.dll and that was it.. you might also want to look for that my docs icon in explorer exe
