A Note On Thread Titles

OK, we're going to start enforcing thread-title naming standards again.

Whats that mean?

Your thread title should look like this:

[request] an Aqua theme for Winamp

and not like:

Yo Yo! I want that thing, dawg

1. Relevent thread titles

2. Use of the [prefixs]

Thank you.

are essential as well.

I'm done editing and renaming threads with misleading titles. Those tags are essential and for the last time, i'll explain why:

When you search for a yz theme that invloves "jaguar", you might get a result such as this one:

- Jaguar is out!!!!........................(1,2,3....36)... | General Discussions |

- is Jaguar an animal or an OS?.. (1,2)...............| Deleted Threads |

- Download Jaguar!.....................(1,2,3....6)......| Aqua Apps |

- Help.........................................(1,2,3....9).....| Skins |

- bug in jaguar os x.....................(1,2)..............| Yz apps |

- Os jaguar for yz........................(1,2)..............| Yz themes |

- ...

- ..

- ..

Etc and for many pages.

So obviously in this case you'll narrow down all results to yz apps only. but even after hours of frustrating search you probably wouldnt find what you want due to overwhelming crap in many places. Then - after your ancestors have posted "Yo yo I want that thing dawg", "OH CRAP!!!!" and "JAGUAR!!" for personal questions, you'll effectively be forced to post redundent questions yourself as well.

With tags things are better:

- [release] Jaguar is out!!!!........................(1,2,3....36)... | General Discussions |

- is Jaguar an animal or an OS?.. ..............(1,2)...............| Deleted Threads |

- [help] Download Jaguar!.........................(1,2,3....6)......| Aqua Apps |(essentially this seemed to be a "help" thread and not download. Capish?)

- [release] "Help".......................................(1,2,3....9).....| Skins |

- [release] "bug in jaguar os x"...............(1,2)..............| Yz apps |

- [request] Os jaguar for yz........................(1,2)..............| Yz themes |

- ...

- ..

- ..

Things are a lot easier with those tags. I can promise you this will help you search what you want in NO TIME. With titles our members make, those tags are more than essential - i'd be lost without em.

OK, we're going to start enforcing thread-title naming standards again.

The enforcing starts now.

From now on, if I see a thread without a tag, I delete it- no warning. To refresh your memory, here is the list of Mod/Admin approved tags:

Yes - very good.

However those tags are necessary under "APPLICATIONS" and "CUSTOMIZING" (obviously to every forum that is under: icons, walls, customizing windows, media players, mobydock, yz, stardock etc.).

Aside those two main topics, its not required to use tags, since other forums arent really developement oriented. But it would be nice to use them.

Also, try to be clear in your title - please dont just do "[help] Ok this is weird" as a title. At least the tags reveal you have a problem (without it, the topic could practically be a post of a link to a funny website as well), however the title is still vague for whoever wants to search something.

Please dont feel bad if your title reveals all info of your post contents. ;)

Thank you everyone!
