[help] Regarding Stuff

since I'm such a n00b  , I have a few questions that i wish to be answered.. :shy:

[1.]

How can I make my systray look like that for example --> saqsw2222y.jpg

I know that objectbar changes the systray-look, but it also does few other things that i dont like.. is there any other way of reaching this systray-look without using objectbar? Is MsStyle the answer? where can i get it then? please help!

[2.]

How can I change the look of my "about this comp."- window, making it look like this for example --> aawqqsaa1.jpg

is it xAbout ? where can i find it?

[3.]

How can I change, or modify the shell32.dll file while windows is running? I've been trying to change the avi´s but cant save the shell32-file after modifying it..

thx for the help!

Copy the shell32.dll file to another folder, and edit this copy of the shell32.dll file. Then use Replacer to replace this hacked shell32.dll file with the one in the Windows\system32 folder.

1. use resource hacker to change the icons of those exe files.

get resource hacker here. you might need to use something else like pe explorer or some exe compression program.

changing the shell, as mentioned by moglenstar can give you a more accurate look as well.

2. already answered completely by hush66.

3. that's the "about this mac" screen, created by an app called atx. see this thread: http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/index.php?s...=about+this+mac

or do a search for "about this mac," "atx," etc.

good luck!

naah.. I dont like litestep.. I use Stylexp, and thought that there is a way of getting the systray only to look in a certain way.. which perhaps does..

but thx anyway! :D

nope.. what does it do?

#67376

it does the same thing as stylexp, except that you don't need to run a shareware program, and it doesn't take up resources. it just changes the uxtheme.dll so you can unsigned themes.

if you're on sp1, you can try it out. pm me if you want it.
