Can someone tell me how to change the font used by the visual styles on Windows?I've tried some visual styles,but the font they use make me unsatisfied and unpleasant.Is there ways to change the font used by the visual styles?Thank you very much! :boob shake: :boob shake: :boob shake:

hello,

if you have stylebuilder, you can change the font there, i believe.

you can also change the system font (to lucida grande here).

1. open regedit

2. navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes

3. change the values in "MS Shell Dlg" and "MS Shell Dlg 2" to Lucida Grande

4. restart

I changed the regedit as what you said.But it seemed that nothing changed to the font.Coule you please tell me how to use StyleBuilder to change the font and build my own visual style?I found it really hard to use this software.

anyway, i'm sorry, i don't have stylebuilder, so i don't know how to use it. maybe a themer can help you out.

edit: do you have the lucida grande font? if you don't, it won't work, so try putting in a different font substitute.

Maybe you can find useful the way i found to manage the fonts for all the visual styles.

you can find a good font configuration that fits well with the majority of the visual styles, your screen resolution, size of the fonts, etc (via display prop, appearance) and save it as a theme ".theme" (you can start with any visual style). Then you have to open the .theme file with notepad and copy the section [Metrics].

Apply a new vs, save it to a new .theme (with whatever font it has) and paste that section to the new .theme file. You can have all the vs you want but all of them with the proper font config that fit your system and your taste (without installing anything).

this way you dont have to change manually the fonts never again.
