Italk On Aim

I know the topic of iTalk getting on AIM, but I was just thinking, isnt GAIM or the Linux version of AIM open source, and wouldn't that be able to tell you the AIM/oscar protocols?

If i'm dead wrong, dont yell at me. I'm not a big programmer (i hated my C++ class/teacher last year), so I'm not sure if either program is open source, or if you can use the code at all, because I'm guessing that the Aqua apps are done in VB.

I don't know, just an idea. <_<
