Folder Problem

I don't know why but last night, out of no reason that I know, when i click my folders to open them, search window pops up :huh:

does any one know why this happened? please help, it's getting really ugly now...

that happened to me a while back

there is something you can edit in the registry that will fix it

open up you registry and go to these two places:-

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

and double-click the (Default) in the right hand side and type:

open for the Directory\shell location, and

none for the Drive\shell location

Thanks! I edit the regedit as you told, now the search window doesn't pop up any more.

but they keep opening in new windows... how can i make it open in the same window like before?

I already have Folder Option--> General--> "open each folder in the same window" checked, but they still open in new windows
