Aqua-Soft ForumsHey all. I'm having a bit of trouble replacing the system tray icons for Trillian Pro 2.0 Final. I replaced them using ResHacker, and then started the program. It loaded alright, but then it immediately became unresponsive and caused CPU usage to jump to 100%. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

The exe must have some kind of protection, or can it be linked to a dll and expect something to match? HMMMM

btw I am using Trillian Pro 2, but I also modded pro 1 and the free versions as well :-/
Did you do anything special? Meaning, other than simply replacing the icon groups in Reshacker. I'd like to hear how you did it.
Damn, someones messign with my mind or something as soon as i saw zoot's reply i tried again and nothing, i actually had to reinstall trillian!! the contact list wouldnt show up and 100cpu usage (the usual).... :rant:
Good that i had a back up of skins and preferences and so on....
I second the request of how to get that icon out of the way! :rule:

Umm, I opened trillian.exe in reshacker, hacked, save.

isnt it the trillian.exe that needs to be reshacked? i might be doing it wrong!
Yeah guys try and upload your ereshacked verions at least... or the very same icons you used to reshack the file maybe the ones were trying to use are not compatible for some reason!
Ya. I've never had a problem with it either. And ya, trillian.exe is your man.
I used one of the tiny black icons released by i-forget-his-name-right-now. Maybe the icon you're trying to replace it with has different dimensions or color depth, and it's messing it up. I don't know if that's possible, but *shrug*
I've tried like, twenty million times to Reshack Trillian.exe, but it does this EVERY time. I wish I knew what you guys were doing differently for it to work for you. Oh well, guess I'll keep trying 
can anyone upload or show me where i can get a mac os x looking chat icon for the tray... i see everyone with them in their tray but i can't find the icons.
Well I dont have the official version, I have some cracked, screwed up warez version... That could be the difference :-p
Well, I just tried it again, and it still won't work. Seems like everything is broken on my computer... first my weather script breaks again, then iTunes moves and renames all 1500 of my music files, and now this still wont work.
Oh for craps sake, if somone can host it I will send it them so they can post for everyone to download.

Ive tried the cracked versions and it doesnt seem to go well with the legal rest of the trillian folder... apparently the legal version doesnt allow you to change the damn icon!

so, no takers? i'm on a cr@cked pro-2 also, but no luck. am so sick of hacking the exe, destroying and resinstalling. been lurking here for ages, hoping someone comes up with something, FUNKAHOLIC may be on the right track, no?
