Help Need!

Hello everybody...

I tried Aqua XP service pack1, the modding pack for windows in download from AquaXP website... my system immediately crashed, then tried to reboot over and over again... finally i managed to get my PC back to work with the "last working setup" option... but my system then was messed up, with no explorer bars at all, no adress and navigation bars... hum.... the uninstall option didn't work, but it delated my backup files...

NOW

after working hard a couple of hours I have my toolbars back, but my system icons are still a mess... does anyone know where I can get a patch, a backup file or some informations about how to get the original windows icons back?

Any help VERY welcomed...

Did you create a system restore point?

If not, my only suggestion would be to either prey to your deity/deities of choice or to reinstall Windows...

yes I did

in fact the way to get back my toolbars was actually to run windows in the "last working setup" mode....

what is wrong right now is just System Icons... they are now the Iceman's pack ones... now, I would only like to get a shell32.dll original windows file in order to have the original backup...

Is it that the only file controlling the icons in the system? Is it possible to get the original one back from microsoft windows upgrade?

the shell32.dll should be on the xp cd. you can put it in and from the recovery console copy the file to a directory (you're stuck within the windows directory, though).
