[release] Quicktime Ifix Brushed Skin

Ok, here it goes - in three flavors. View and download here.

These skins are partly based on original graphics by Max Rudberg and Rene (permissions granted), and of course, Apple's fabulous QuickTime interface. I would also like to thank Dimik for the whole QuickTime idea, and Binary, who ported the original Mac cursor included here.

Installing: unzip, then just put the QTTIME.TTF file to your Windows\Fonts folder and all the other files to the ZoomPlayer\Skin folder.

P.S. The "Toggle playlist" button is hidden in the lower left corner.

And don't hesitate to send me some nice feedback to m.fedoseev@mail.ru.

Is it just me or does the zoom player run really slow? Like when I move it around or resize the window it is really sluggish.

#64637

Hi miSka,

Great job on the skin and thanks for letting me preview it prior to release.

#64656

Thank you so much miSka for your Zoom Player's line of neat skins.

@ Jettie from where i stand... it's just you.

#64668

Thanks for the feedback guys, Ireally appreciate it, and ya know, this is the first skin I made all by myself... There were those Milk and SS Gloss versions, but I only did modify Dimik's QT Mac skin to make them.

I will continue making various versions of QT and update those old whitey ones.

As for other players, I just had not enough time to try them yet, bute I hope I will - I'll just need to learn their skinning engines a bit you know...

@Jettie: On my P4, 256MB RAM machine ZP works ok, but kinda flickers when i resize it - it's just that the buttons get redrawn too slow, so I see them doubling for a moment... That's OK with me.

The next one will be Milk (half-finished already, since it's basically a redrawn bitmap image and some lines of text), then... maybe Shinobi?

:D

#64736

Ok thanks for clearing that up miSka. Those specs is what I have so I guess I will have to deal with it.

Great skin! a LOT better than the one I attempted =D but i did notice 1 thing that's not "Mac-Like" and that's the (Q) button. Now I'm not familiar with Mac so I may be wrong, but shouldn't the Q button stay relative to the right border rather than relative to the other buttons? Or is that uncodeable with zoomplayer? Just wondering..

Well, in real QT that button behaves so that it relates to both center and right border, so that when you stretch the window horizontally, it stays a bit farther from the side. So does the volume slider , see your Windows QT :6 but it's not yet possible with ZP, as it allows only three options for element positioning - relative to left, right and center, with addition and substraction posible, no multiplication or division. Example:

DestX=<WinHalfWidth+35>

- this would place a button 35 pixels to the right from the window center (X axis), sticking to the center when resized. And this:

DestY=<WinHeight-90>

- would place it 90 pixels higher than window height value (it sticks to the bottom part of the window when resized).

I talked to Blight (ZP developer), but he never confirmed he will implement these advanced functions in future ZP releases. :(

Glad you enjoy it though ;)

its me or zoomplayer flick when i wanna drag the window?

flick the dock, the objectbar and samurize

#64908

Hi, well i don't realy want to make an issue out of it but...

I have a PIII ~800 MHz with 160 MB RAM and there is no flickering, slowdowns or whatever with Zoom Player v3.10 Standard on my machine as actualy it's very responsive and smooth wether i'm resizing, moving or playing.

The only bit slow down i may get is only when i load a 700 MB DivX file or something it pauses for a second or two till it loads.

And to add it may also relate to CoolMon a bit that slowdown while loading.

Note that i don't use docks and/or samurize.

#65021

But it does flicker when you have winfx shadow on it.

#65030

Guys, that's NOT related to the skin. Yeah, it does flicker a couple of times. I can't do anything about it.

How about Crystal Player, BSPlayer anybody? Do they flicker?

#65043

@ Nate: I have WindowFX loaded however it doesn't affect Zoom Player nor BSPlayer with better or worse as it doesn't shadow any of them at all.

@ miSka: I use BSPlayer too and it runs smooth however with some skins while exiting you can see for a second the skin's background detached/with out the buttons.

And as for Zoom Player it's solid and acts the same whether it's loaded with the default skins that came along with it or with the QT line of skins.

And @ miSka... just curious, what skin you are planing for BSPlayer? as it's a detached controls kind of player as Apple's DVD Player application.

Actually, you CAN shadow Zoom Player with jef's Add Shadow App. It just flickers a lot when you play a quicktime movie. Not as much for avi.

#65070

Phoenix76, I'm not planning anything yet, just curious to try BSPlayer. I'm not familiar with its skinning abilities, so it'll take some time anyway. Right now I basically finished QuickTime Milk, just some minor things left. SmoothStripes and Aluminum Alloy may follow.

#65173

how we do for change skin in zoom player? :(
