It is feasable, but don't be surprised if your not happy with the outcome.
As it is it takes approx 5 min to "Swith User" and "Log In" under a different user in WinXP. Granite it's a 500MHz PoS, but the facts none the less.
I think *fast* user switching would be too hard to do in Windows, but something like virtual desktops would be much easier.
well it may be possible.. be probebly very unlikly... well what i mean is.. even though microsoft made this you can change your alt tab appearence with a tool.. so even then i bet a developer could create somthing like that to look like panthers style... it just overwrites the older alt tab function and that one kicks in.. so maybe if we do like.. a Win+L to log out it can make the screen spin around to the login screen.... but who knows

I don't think this would he possible until longhorn with it's 3d interface. This is because WindowsXP's desktop is not rendered onto a polygon.

Fast user switching, on my parents' 350MHz PII, with 384Mb of RAM, takes around a minute to fully switch from one user to the other.
That, of course, is using the old MS fast-user switching powertoy, which I still have, I believe.
It's not as elegant as Panther's funky cube-switch, but it's not bad...
And it's only 2 years old!

i can do a fast switch to a new user in under 30 seconds, and the switch back takes mabie 5. I think its very possible to do this, just needs allota coding. you would have to take a screen shot of the screen when you log off, put the image on a cube in a rendering engine, and replace the login screen with the rotation of that cube. simple (as far as something like tis would be).

Technically, as an integrated part of the "Windows Experience", no, it won't be possible until Longhorn...
It's not unknown, however, for people to create alternative shells to explorer.exe... If someone created a 3D shell for Windows, I can see no reason why not...
Also, I can't see any reason that someone couldn't take a screenie, using the same APIs as IeX, and switch users in the same fashion as the MS Fast-User Switching powertoy (probably making the same API calls), and wrap a funky 3D cube around it, and set it up as a service... Problem solved. I'm just too busy to do it.
O.K., so we established that most likley it can be done. I'm getting excited now. So, does anyone know how the Cube User Switch actually preforms. I mean, where do you put in the password, etc.
ok, first i think we can use a mov file of a switch grab from a Mac, and then we can write an App that will play that mov and then when it finish call the change user of windows (it is not the real thing. but guys we are still in a PC !!!!! if you don`t know it YET !!!! )......
I'm working on a very simple prototype of the WMI interfacing structure of a fast-user switching app 
I just wish I could find out how MS recommend that you use fast user switching :S

Don't get too excited - I don't intend to make anything fancy - I'm just going to make a simple proof of concept application, providing fast user switching, but none of the 3D stuff...

Remember the program where you can minimize a window and it folds to the top,right,left, or bottom? It even ran in 98. I think it was called Madotate.
