- For help, please begin your thread titling with a "[help]" sign.

Why does people keep ignoring the rules?

And i believe this isn't the right section for this.

For your problem, have you tried to update your drivers? If it doesn't help, go start menu ->run -> dxdiag and go to the sound tab. Reduce the acceleration by one. If this doesn't help i don't know what's your problem.

I had the same problem. I use Windows Media Player to listen to music. When I would stick a cd in, there was only this awful hissing and scratching. I fixed this problem by doing this in WMP9:

tools menu > options > Devices > Properties (of the device in question) Click Properties then select "Analog" in the "Playback area.

Worked like a charm for me. Good Luck. ;)

thanx for the tip Xavier, also, i figured this at work, if the headphones cable is right next the mouse cable it will do that horrible hissing sound everytime is click or scroll the scrolling wheel... as soon as i change it.. voila...

Cheers
