nah the mod didn't work but thanks for trying i don't why it didn't...
i see the ichat bubble in my systray but my aim buddlist doesn't show up and i know its not an internet connection problem cause i'm on a LAN. but that ok i just hide the icon
if i could just figure out how to space these icons
this is what it looks like now
nope, sorry, i don't know this one. i didn't even know there was a registry entry to change it. i'll try and find out or keep looking.
i guess what i'd do is change the systray icon to be bigger, but with a transparent background. but i don't think that'll work because from what i see in the tray, all the icons have pretty much the same size.
I found this thread on the aqua xp forums, although the "spacer" program they're talking about at the end of the post doesn't seem to work for me at all.
I've been trying to look for a way to space out the icons as well, if I find anything I'll make sure to post it.

Thanx man, your effors do not go unnoticed ![]()

I cant give up the taskbar... yet...

I just tried that spacer.exe found int htat thread in AquaXP you shared with us... it seems to space only the little arrow that uncovers the hidden taskbar icons... hmmm
Any clues?
spacer doesn't do what i actually want on top of that uses up 5 mb

You're describing exactly what it's doing on my machine, although it's supposed to space out all the icons, as far as I understood. Or perhaps I don't know how to use it.
This thread actually claims that someone knows how to do it, so it might be just a matter of tracking down the right person.
It's back to google for me, I suppose.
Boooooooooooooy do i feel stupid now :shy:
Sorry about that liron but through cyberspace and with that avatar how could i know.
Thanx hehehe.... now i know...
Cheers

Hahahha, good to know liron, good to know...
Is that earings you put on it?? thats just sick hahahha
If it *is* possible, I think the people that could shed some light on this could be the themers out there, here's why:
If you adjust your Caption buttons' size (Display properties -> Appearance -> Advanced), it affects the size of your system tray icons; in many cases UGLY-fying them and pixelating them :6, but there is no setting in there for spacing them out -- so I'm thinking if there is something for spacing them out, it could be hidden in the mstheme/winblinds theme as a similar side effect
?
according to a coder (grigri!) i asked over at virtualplastic, spacing is defined in the code for the tray. he says you'd have to use an alternate shell or subclass the tray and draw it manually.
not sure what else you could try. make the tray icons smaller, but with more space on the sides? haha, doesn't look like you can do much.
perhaps, although I just went StyleBuilder hunting and I couldn't find any values in relation to the system tray buttons. I managed to find systray clock and the "view hidden icons" button, but nada regarding the way icons are displayed in the tray.
I DID manage to find a "SMCaptionBarWidth" value, but that seems to take (little or) no effect, or perhaps It doesn't do what I think it does.
Any clues or ideas anyone?
