[help] Need To Burn Windows Media/video To Cd
if you have a DVD BURNER and have blank dvd's and the right program then yes
but no you cant just use a normal cd burner and burn a a video file on your cd and expect dvd players ti play it.
you can how ever burn your video file onto a cd.. but only the computers can read and play it.

what about vcds
yes, nero can burn vcds. if you're using the wizard:
compile a new cd > other cd formats > video cd.
of course, you can just do it manually as well.
Google around for info on "XVCDS". They are almost DVD-quality, and fit on a CD.
All VCDs use MPEG, so you cant use WMV, you'd have to convert it.
what software do i need to convert it
yes, nero can burn vcds. if you're using the wizard:compile a new cd > other cd formats > video cd.
If it were only that easy.....
Contra is right on this one. XVCD is definitely the route to take in your situation unless you plan on getting a DVD burner. And this tells you how to convert it as easily as possible http://www.dvdrhelp.com/tmpgencxvcd.htm
I've been down this road and it's rocky at best. I even have a DVD burner and still can't figure out how to convert WMP files to any format that plays on a DVD player.
What you always have to do though is check the compatibilityy lists to see what exaclty your specific dvd player can play. Not all players are created equal.

d'oh, didn't know it wouldn't work. never tried it. my mistake! :shy:
Nero burns vcds just fine using the wizard and it is that easy as long as your file is already converted to the correct mpeg format. So the main problem is converting your videos in the first place. Use TMPG Encoder to do that.
