Second Ibook Mod- Finished!

Well gang, after two days, one false start, a lot of masking tape, and a blister from the exacto knife, here it is- my new mod:

I covered the inside of the case w/ masking tape and cut the lettering/swirls out with an exacto knife. I did the red lettering first, then the light orange swirls, then the dark orange background. I have also posted it at Spymac. Hope you like it!

I don't think I'm gonna do one. I only took 2 or 3 pics of the process, and I don't feel like I can explain things well without pictures. Some kid put together a tutorial over here. The only thing I'll tell you to do differently than him is don't sand the cover! It needlessly scratches the hell out of the lid and is a waste of six hours (how much time he spent sanding the paint out). Instead, dump some regular old $0.79 rubbing alcohol into the lid, let soak 20 minutes, and the paint comes off effortlessly with a soft cloth, leaving your case perfectly clear with no scratches.

Well, funny enough, the design is a combination of 2 wallpapers from Mandolux.com. They are in his grafitti section.

And yes Seph, that's a photo album of my graduation ceremony + pictures from the after party. And no, Iwon't scan and post the photos. :P

As always, beautiful.

How about an "iBook mods" Dock theme? ;)

#63513

dude, that looks awesome. Wish i could do that to my toshiba, but it'd come out ugly. I still can't believe how awesome that came out.

Something cool happened- Mandolux, the guy who made the desktops I used as my design, emailed me and thanked me for the publicity. :) He thought it came out well too.
