[help] Mobydock Memory Leak

Just trying Mobydock today..

When I open task manager after running Mobydock for a while, its memory usage is currently 49,788 K...

Is it a memory leak..or?

I don't mind if it is using my virtual memory..but if it takes out my RAM..err.. :(

Hope Moby fix in the next release.. btw any beta to download like Goku had? :D

Simple test:

Run a really memory intensive app (photoshop, etc). Does Mobydocks memory usage go down?

If it does, its just normal caching.

hi,

this is the way windows handles memory for apps. there is no memory leak in mobydock. but i also noticed that and it sometimes goes up to 25 MB on my pc (equipped with 1GB) !

In the new release - i swear, the release is near - i force windows to clean up the memory which results in a much lower memory usage.

Ah cool..sorry to "frame" you :D

Ugh... I've heard the word "near" since 2 months ago when Goku said it in this forum

:joystick: hope it's not too long before I switched back to ObjectDock (no, I'm not trying to put a pressure on you, moby..just joking  )

Oh man...Moby you're killing me...I must be checking the forum every hour waiting for the release :depressed:

I know it'll be worth the wait...I just hate waiting...must go back to when I was a kid at Christmas and couldn't touch the presents until morning

hey, ya, tell us how your forcing windows to clean its memory moby(or anyone else).

escalating memory cache is one of my main peeves, and i tried a prog or two, but they were lame. :naughty:

Yeah man!!! I agree with the person 2 messages above.

You are killing us.

I check the forum every half an hour,

I run all the docks in shifts,

I smoke png icons

There's being a long time since I experienced such addiction. You are going to tell me 'get a life', I am going to say '...'

:sorry:

You are going to tell me 'get a life'

I prefer the phrase "Keep your pants on" actually.

Moby KNOWS we're all anxiously waiting for his next release, he knows damn well. I don't think he needs people constantly telling him that we're dying of anticipation.

He'll release when the program's ready for it, no sooner, no later.

Some of you are confusing memory CACHING to memory LEAKING. Two very different things. Its appropriate for your memory usage to go up as time goes by, its not OK for the system to slow down.

Moby: I can't wait. Goku has been hyping this thing so much. I believe he said that you were carrying the baby Jesus, or something to that effect.

I know, but sometimes when people saying how eagerly they are waiting for your creation, you'll have the extra "energy boost" when doing it since you know how you can make those people happy after u finish it :smartass:
