Aqua-Soft Forumsconsiderd stealing bandwith ? i installed anew router and card for my wifes Pc . and today i come home form work to fined a cable dude checking my lines and runing some test . so i call the wife up and as if she called them for some reason No she says . i ask what are you doing here and he explains that he was running some test on the lines on the block and mine was " pulling " more bandwith then normal X_o . i ask whats the problem never had any trouble before . he say if im running a wireless router theres a problem ? RaodRunner considers it stealing bandwith . just seems funny that less that 24 hours after i hook up a router that there out here messing around could they be watching the line that close ? or is that possiable

I can only think you've not set it up securely and people are stealing your bandwidth fron you.
get them to explain why.. its not legal on their part to specify what you must use surely.
yea i have been asked the same thing on a few other foums
sorry for got to add all ports closed and behind a fire wall and im the only one with passy to get in to router 
hahaha it takes them a week to hook up the cable, but the moment you getting more then you pay for they rush out there.
how can you take more bandwidth than you pay for? have they not restricted it or is the same connection shared by your whole building?

You should be able to set up encryption on the router using a passphrase. Do that and you'll be set.
I use Adelphia Powerlink Cable Internet Service and they allow you to network as many computers as you want, but when looking at the Road Runner Website I found the following in the Q and A section:
