I always had problems skinning gnome under RH9 b/c of the restrictions that RH placed on editting gnome menus, etc...

Uhm...
lol, I've already seen dozens of links with tricks on how to allow menu editting with rhat. The point is that there are just certain limitations and restrictions on RedHat that I personally found unnecessary. Let's get real: one of the reasons that so many people use RedHat is because of the thrill of being able to take advantage of the great flexibility that Linux provides. Then RedHat limits even the smallest of things (why restrict menu editting!? Even Windows allows something similar).
Oh well... I've personally always found Gentoo better, and will stick with that (as it is by far my favorite distribution).
