i think you can remove the gui part of the boot screen, but not the boot screen itself.
the only way i can think of doing this is to replace it with a completely black screen. so the system can still load, but it looks as if there is no boot screen.

you can do this by adding an argument to the boot.ini in c:
i'm not sure but i think it was something like /nobootgui
ask mr. google for help, you'll find it!

run > msconfig > check /noguiboot
under the boot.ini tab.
you'll just get a black screen, but the time during which it's booting will still remain.
