From what research I've done all aquafying points to WinXP... What about us Win2K users?
One thing that annoys me is that all of Y'z apps are XP-only <_<

well, as far as most of it goes... you can use a combination of an alternate shell (litestep, talisman) and something like windows blinds, or more resource-friendly.. shellwm... that should cover the look..
ObjectDock works pretty well on Win2000.
I have Win2k myself, and its not as possible as it is in WinXP, but you can emulate it pretty good.
- Windowsblind (To skin windows and so on)
- Objectbar (To get the bar up on the top)
- ObjectDock (Says itself
)
- Samurize (To get the nice and big desktop icons)
On thing that is bad, is that you cant have nice icons with loads of colours in it ![]()
As I know ,Win2K don't support the third-part theme, but you can try the third-part soft.
I agree with B3nd1k post.
UI (explorer) - WINDOWBLINDS
Dock - ObjectDock or DesktopX with Dock Skin
Big Icons - DesktopX or B3's suggestion....
And a collection of mac walls. And that's it...
But he still has the icon issue and unfortunatly there is just no way to get alfablended icons to work right in Win2k. When I used Win2k I skined it to look like Rhapsody/Mac OS 10.0 Server version 1. That was the version that looked most like Mac OS 9 but with bigger 48x48 icons instead and instead of a dock programs when minimized form a tile at the bottom of the screen instead of a dock. I still have all my icons for the Rhapsody look. Maybe I will finaly release them after holding on to them for almost 4 years.
Yes, I just want to know if we can change the "shell32.dll" files into mac-like style within the mac-like icons such like those of the winXP's "shell32.dll" or not? Because using the system replacing method to change the UI style is nice idea, I believe.
Thanks a lot.

Yes technicly you can give shell32.dll an overhaul and it should work. Just remember to only use the none alpha blended icons in the .ddl file. It will help keep the file smaller and should use less system ram.
But there is the posibility that Win2k may not like its shell32.dll tampered with. In the past I did this and Win2k refused to work until I put the original back in. I may have done something wrong hen editing the file but this was before we even started tweaking things like .dll files. We are talking almost 4 years ago. With the editors we have now you should be able to pull it off.
Good luck and just remember to dump any and all of the WinXP/alpha-blended icons to save space.
