IngeneerMind, don't use old skins from divx site with 2.1 and above as they are buggy and not 100% compatable.

And yes DivX Player is not the right software for pure movie enjoyment but it's your call.

ok, let's start at the beginning:

do you know what a codec is? if yes, jump to 2, if no, read on. a codec is a software to encode and decode audio and/or video information. basically it encodes the material available with it's algorithms.
if you know what a codec does, jump to 3, if no, read on. a codec serves (in most cases) the reduction of the filesize. so mp3 (*.mp3) is a codec, ogg vorbis (*.ogg) is a codec, advanced audio coding (*.aac) (or something like that, I'm too lazy to do a search) is a codec, divx (*.avi, *.divx) is a codec and there is even a windows media codec (*.wma, *.wmv), version 9 is the most recent, and so on. there are many codecs out there.
if you know, what a avi-file is, jump to 4, if no, read on. you can encode raw pictures (MiniDV for example is 25 bmp per second, each 1mb) by using a codec to reduce the size of the movie. DivX for example has the possibility to shrink a movie of 120 minutes to 650 mb. an avi file (Audio Video Interleave) is a container, merging the sound file and the video file together, so that you have moving pictures with sound. but to be able, to decode the avi file, you need the codec with which the pictures respectively the sound was encoded.
in your case the codec with the FourCC code i263 is missing, this is the Intel - I263
codec. get it by googling for it, don't be so lazy...

to all pro's: I tried to explain the basics of codec's and avi's on a very simple base, please be kind with me, I know that not everything is correct, but +/- it should be right...
