Legal Issues

Hi there,

I'm just wondering, is it okay to use the aqua interface that we extracted from extra.rsrc of Jaguar or OSX in our webpages, softwares etc? Will apple be mad if they see their aqua used on other softwares?

Do I have to add a copyright notice say "aqua interface © 20xx by apple computer inc" etc?

I've been using Windows all along and have not had a chance to touch an X-Box (I mean OSX) till I got access to the "Mac Computer Lab" in school. I've been so busy extracting everything from that Jaguar box and planning to use them on my own apps. But then somebody asked me "What good would it be if you copy everything from the mac?"

Or should I ... ?

I think you should put "Mac OS X, Apple, Mac, Aqua and Jaguar are trademarks of Apple Computer Inc."

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO IT.

I think it is illegal, because you are using them without permission. You can give credits, but you still took them without permission. I think it this way, you stole something from a store, and then use it for public use, but you say you took them from X store, isnt that still robbery? Dont get into legal issues, you might be warned of, but if you get popular with those apps, you are most likely to be warned and asked to remove that stuff.
