Where Do You Use The Internet The Most?

Well, seeing that most members here are online 25/7, I started wondering how they got the time to do so.

Myself, I'm online (and hence at aqua-soft ;)) at home and at University with a 50:50 ratio. What about you?

#61396

mostly at home. occassionally from school.

#61397

50:50 between home and the office (talk about productivity)

@ TAHA... this kind of poll sounds like some internet company is paying you for the data! ahhaha... i feel i just signed up to an email account.. i better get one man..

shhh.. don't let anyone else know, Seph. :ninja:

Anyway, so how do you guys and gals at work manage to get the time to be online so often?

in other words, what job do you have. I'll try to get the same kind of job after I graduate. ;)

I spend all my time at work online (18.5 hours a week), but then, I'm a part time Web Developer/Web Technology Ananlyst, so part of my job description is basically to keep up to date with the net in general... And with 3 monitors on my work machine, I have Outlook 2003 on one, Firebird on another with about 5/6 tabs open, and Visual Studio/SQL Server Enterprise Manager on the main one...

It's such a hard life ;)

I do spend more time online at home, though - I spend rougly 50 hours a week online, as a bare minimum

#61408

 I don't follow... so it's possible to actually be disconnected from the Internet? weird... <_

Home.

My school is waaaay to liberal in the use of the Web Filtering.

They Filter the spanish translation in GOOGLE!

Some of us have Spanish homework. <_<

AND, they got DELLs instead of iBooks, damn that Mr.Dell.

Plus, I cant stand Internet Explorer, surfing without Tabs and pop up blocking is so painful.

So yes, at home.

when i wake up, i visit the forums. when i come back from class, i browse again until i go to sleep. sometimes i find myself going through all my tabs pushing f5.

not just forums, mind you. news sites, ebay, other discussion boards with my friends.

but still....

:) :ninja:

I'm on the intrnet virtually the whole time I'm awake. I'm on all day at work while working and then at home when I finish. Basically, whenever a computer is on I'm on the net. :D

I use internet mostly at home. My job doesn't have internet and I'm taking a semester off of school. Though I do miss the fiber optics off a T1 at my old high school.

A Cyber Cafe, here in Missouri, yeah right. I should be so fortunate. The Mid-West is really behind in technology.

Ahh, don't worry about it, no biggie here. If anything it's a perfect place to understand it even more. Heck, not all of us speak or write english very "good."

my job is just like the movie 'office space' (to the extent we recently had hawaiian shirt day!), so recently, i find myself having to take a break and get online or i'll jump out a window  good thing we're on the first floor. but mostly it's when i'm home do i get on.

It's all college for me. My parents still haven't got internet....which, with how computer illiterate my dad is, I shouldn't be surprised.

*Convo following a clean wipe and install on my sister's comp*

Me: Ok, dad, Erin's computer should be all set. I put Win2000 on it, plus Office and Nero.

Dad: Office? But I was gonna put Lotus 1-2-3 on there...

Me: Yeah, I noticed you had that on there before I redid everything...how did that even work? I thought Lotus was for Win95?

Dad: I dunno...I just wanted Erin to have a typing program that would be compatible with what her school has.

Me: Well, I can guarantee that they aren't using Lotus...no one has since 1996.

Dad: Hmm...well are you sure Office will be compatible? Do they even use that at her school?

Me: *Puts head in hands and cries*

By the way, that convo actually took place.
