Hi there,
I'm after a 36-hour run of killing old configuration and creating totally new on my HD. It started with registry error - WinXP (non SP1) gave a blue screen saing that system32\config\software file is corrupted so it won't run. I've replaced it with a backup and after approx. 2 reboots I had another error saying that files holding my user account settings are corrupted so WinXP will create a temporary account. That f***ed me up. I killed WinXP, formatted almost everything and cut it with PartitionMagic.
Now I'm running WinXP WITH SP1 cos I have read on MS site that it won't cause registry errors.
I DON'T TRUST THESE M*****ERS!
Anyone could give me some link to a decent app that would check registry's integrity, defragment it, erase empty keys, back it up whenever needed?
And an app that would check my HD because I had an information that there may be some crossed clusters.
And maybe some advice how to avoid these kind of F*** problems???
I just hate reinstalling...
