Since I am posting software releases often I decided to make a post that I'll update instead of opening different posts per release:

Quark 3.11

strange-quark now has a Recent menu with recent selections made from its file dialogs. quark parses playlists created on more platforms correctly by treating \n and \r as line breaks. Sort directories when adding their contents to the playlist. Fix for playlists with absolute paths. Prevent infinite loop if quark is unable to play anything in the playlist, only looping through them once. Close the audio device when paused.

Quark is a music player that is controled from the System Tray (like a Docklet) or from the command line.. More info here

Arkpandora TTF - The MS Webfonts Replacement

Many people are still getting (by whatever means) the core MS fonts for their Linux Desktop. This project is meant to be as a replacement for some of these main fonts. They have been designed to match similarly with the fonts they replace. The fonts are derived from the Bitstream Vera fonts and are available under the same terms as Vera.
This pack is the Arkpandora font set.

Ross Burton, author of Sound Juicer has released a new version of his monitor calibration tool formally known as GammaarRRr. This tool features Black point calibration, per-Display gamma calibration for arbitrary target gamma values, a graphical editor for calibrating the gamma and a GNOME applet to select gamma corrections quickly.

Hardware lister A.01.04

lshw (Hardware Lister) is a small tool to provide detailed informaton on the hardware configuration of the machine. It can report exact memory configuration, firmware version, mainboard configuration, CPU version and speed, cache configuration, bus speed, etc.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

If the picture emotes precisely what I'm wanting to communicate, why not post the picture instead of having to type another line saying exactly what the emoticon does?

Oh well... I'll abide by the rule, although it's really not meant as spamming.

Anyway, I just get the core fonts, no need to replace them (though I use the Bitstream fonts for web/email).

They are legal to use, because all the people are doing is distributing something that Microsoft distributed on their website for a very long time.

i couldnt get rhythmbox to work until i did an apt-get and update libmad, and it's a great player i must say, but i'm back to using XMMS for now. I have a HD Mp3 player and rhythmbox just wont add the songs to my playlist so i got rid of it.
