[preview] Mac Style Web/photoshop Template

mc-template.png

This is my latest baby, a website template due for releasing either in the very early hours of this morning, or sometime tomorrow. Sort of depends on responses really.

To try and save time, I'm asking now, those who could/would use it for their own use, please let me know now what you would like added. I really don't want to spend the next year adding new graphics for individuals. Note: I don't and can't promise to meet everyone's request but I will consider each one on its own merit.

The release will include all graphics, the PSD (including all slices) and the CSS file so that you can customize to your heart's content.

And please, don't give me any "that's not how the mac does it", or "that's meant to be here or there to look like Safari." It's all loosely based on, not meant as a replica. Finally, before any shouters start shouting, no, nothing has been ripped from anyone. Every last pixel has been started from scratch.

Oh yes, and of course it will be free. Silly question. I'm the poorest rich man in the world.

Many thanks...

Totally Sweet !! I have been looking to update my personal site to a brushed look, but honestly I have just not had the time. From the looks of things I can't really see anything that I would add right off, but I bet I could figure some stuff out after I started to use it.

They really are quite easy. I'll see about adding a PDF tutorial in with the files.

That would be a bit silly, given that they are not the same. Take a closer look.

I like the nice, clean look and feel (once it loads :D )

You'll perhaps be pleased to know I'm making sure it works with a variety of browsers (including Mozilla Firebird) before I release it.

Browsers Checked will be:

Opera 7.20 (My preferred browser by far.)

Firebird 0.6.1.

Internet Explorer 6 SP1

Netscsape 4.7/8

Why the last one in this day and age? If it works on that old bag of pants, it'll work on most things. Updating latest screenshot any minute now.

I hope you release it cause it's fantastic. If you decide to release this theme, can I mod it for phpnuke?

I'm on a 1MB connection too. It was quite slow. Maybe it was just congestion at that moment. I haven't been back since.

Anyway, the template is practically completed, I'm just perfecting the slice sizes and integrating the CSS. (I really hate those two jobs.)

It should still be on schedule for release later today.

Looks very nice... Clean layout, just the way I like them.

Waiting patiently for it's release so i can give it a full test drive.

Hang on in there. It will be worth the wait. Every time I think I'm done, I think of something else to make user-customisable.

It will absolutely-definately-undoubtedly-hopefully be today. lol

If it helps, I'm just doing the documentation now. The tech stuff is done.

i wonder how you get the permission from Apple for that template  ?

More to the point, why would you need it?

All images are originals. All code is original. The title is X-Gel which is more akin to XBox if you ask me. Yes, it is certainly influenced by an Apple style, but then so are a thousand other websites, applications, etc out there.

All art is influenced by something. Look how many things the XP look and feel has spawned.

Their site [Apple's] certainly looks nothing like the template. So where is the hassle, pray do tell? The template is no more a threat to Apple than your logo is.

Having said all that - I ain't no lawyer...

The template files can now be obtained via this thread.
