My camera supports USB 1.1, FW and of course svideo.
It came only with a usb cable so it'll be a slow transfering to the computer.
it has a memory card for still frames (1024x768) and a really nice 1mpx quality video.
I sticked the usb cord that came along with it, and it transfered the images beautifully onto my iPhoto, just like the commercials.
Then, i switched to the video mode, it didnt transfer/stream anything to iMovie. Infact iMovie couldnt even detect the camera. Again, all was still under a USB 1.1.
the interesting thing is that my mac recognized the memory card and mounted it as a drive. As for the video transfering it didnt find the camera (USB1.1). Even in the manual it doesnt mention anything about video transfering, not only for the firewire, but even for the old s/video, but just how to upload your images to your pc.
People around me told me that the USB 1.1 is too slow for this and thats probably the reason it didnt stream/transfer the movies to my mac. So thats my question - do you people think that only with firewire I could transfer video off of my camera? I mean, I could buy a FW cable, but that specific brand is expensive (the small and big pins on the cable) so i thought to ask people in here in advance.
Thanks a lot for your help!
