Program To Run Pngs As Normal Xp Icons

After seeing Telmos huge selection of Pngs, I would LOVE to have my xp use pngs like normal icons, is there a small program(like Microangelo Ondisplay) that would allow me to do this? The normal xp icons are plain and boring, I'm loving the pngs.

Edit: I would also not like to use winblinds or any stardock product for this.

pngs are images like bmps, jpgs, gifs...

Ppl are confused and they think they are a type of icon.

So, in order to use them as icons, you will have to convert them to icons first.

unless you were on linux, you can use them as icons. You need a software as taha said, you can either open the png on an image editor, an resize them, ans save all the sizes, use a program to insert all the sizes.

Or get axialis icon workshop, open an explorer window(File>New>Explorer), locate your pngs, select all of them, right click, and select batch convert to windows Icons, a menu will open, select the following sizes, ONLY IN XP, no 256 colors and that stuff, with the following sizes:

128x128, 96x96, 72x72, 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16

and click ok, all the pngs will be made icon, and placed in the sma folder with another name, easy adn quick.

thank you very much guys, I knew that png were image files that is why I asked if there was a possibility of making them act as icons. If I convert the pngs to icons, will they lose alot of clarity?

to tell you the truth, I dont trust a lot axialis on keeping the quality in the resize, I better resize them in Adobe Photoshop, and then make the icons with all the sizes, but I might be wrong and Axialis might do its job correctly, but I prefer my old proper style.

Hi,

I use Axialix Icon Workshop for all my *png to *.ico and *.ico to *.png conversions and have no resizing problems.

Icon Workshop has a filtering option that ranges from "smooth" to "sharp" which can be used, if one likes, to make the resized images as smooth or as crisp as one likes.

And as a bonus, as someone mentioned earlier, one can, if one likes, do a batch conversion and create various sizes on the fly.
