Quick Logon

When I was updating my version of XP to SP1, the blue logon welcome screen was removed and replaced with a small dialogue box (like Windows 2000) when I started up my computer. Since then, I have reformatted and have gone back to the big ugly blue welcome screen. I know I can change it by altering the logonui.exe but whenever it switches to my desktop, it leaves remnants of the image of the logon as my computer starts up...

so basically what I'm asking is...

Does anyone know how to configure Windows XP Home to display a logon dialogue box (like Windows 2000) instead of a large logon image like the blue welcome screen?

run > control userpasswords > change the way users log on or off > uncheck "use welcome screen."
