Aqua-Soft Forumsi just got an email from cnn:tech that microsoft was thinking about buying google so that it could integrate search into longhorn. now by this i don't if they mean the company or just the technology but microsoft wants to get into the internet search industry. so how do u feel about this, i mean microsoft is huge as it is. will they become unstoppable, because like it or not microsoft yields alot of power in washington and 5 years down the line the computer/industry might be very different

No, Google is its own company and they've criticized MS many times, I doubt they would allow themselves to be bought out.
Google is the best search engine, by far. Why would they sell it off?
MS Has claimed they want to beat Google, but have you used MSN searched? Boy does it suck.
Try searching "linux" and "open source". For linux, like the first result you get is "linuxsucks.com" and for "open source", you get "how to switch from Open Source to MS products".
Funny stuff.
google offers an API that you can put in any browser, safari, mozilla/netscape/firebird, and Opera all make use of this API to search from the browser. so no.. Apple and Google do not have any agreement.
would be pretty cool aslong as there is no damn ads, and hell i bet the google gods could deserve a nice raise in paycheck from ms

Google will never be owned by Microsoft. That would be end of the internet! Just think how many ads for their own software it would be there? It would be hard to find the search-form!
Come on kids.....this isn't about how "pure" Google is and how "evil" MS is.....
...it's all about the money... if MS coughs up enough dollars, Google is theirs for the taking..... it's that simple.

they said that about Netscape...... no Microsoft doesn't own Netscape, but how many of you use Netscape browser now a days? and I am not talking about the Open Source port of it (Mozilla/Camino/firebird/etc)
i believe ms said the reason messenger was cancelled is due to the abuse of the
system by peodophiles, claim it would be easier to trace the activites of paid
users.
google is too big a brand name to allow themselves be bought by ms(unless ms
flashes enuff green). everyone has a price just depends how high.
Telmo: Why does it matter if we use regular netscape or Mozilla? They're 99% the same code. Netscape did the right thing by open sourcing their code. Mozilla will take over IE soon, and its doing great now.
Netscape is alive and well.

It's annoying how big companies can ruin good ideas. Hotmail, Netscape, ICQ.
As for Microsoft chatrooms, a MS representative told on TV that they will require personal info that can be verified, such as credit card numbers etc.
