New To Mac, Please Help

I just bought the 1.25 GH imac last weekend and OMG this thing is a beauty!!

one thing here, I downloaded some software (Outlook 2002, yahoo messenger, Media player for os x) whose files end with .dms. How the heck on earth do i open *.dms?

please please help, I need my Yahoo Messenger

.dms? Are you sure it's not .dmg? :blink:

You can open them (.dmg) using disc-copy, and then mount them as disk images on the desktop. Its a great utility, good luck :lol: :lol:

lemme put this in a simple manner,

Macintosh HD:Applications:Utilities:Diskcopy

or for tha lay person %your mac HD%:\Applications\Utilites\Diskcopy.exe

open disk copy, drag the image into the diskcopy Window.

OR

Double click on the file

The problem was there's been a misanderstanding between Safari and Speed download II.

Everything Safari picked up was renamed to *.dms instead of .dmg which they are suppose to be.

I uninstalled SDII and now the prob is solved.

ps., I got the imac for two weeks and by far the thing I like the most about it is apple's phone support, they are really the best service I've ever been with!!
