Apple G5 And New Lcd Monitor

Am I the only one that still thinks that the G4 and the current model monitors are still the best looking computers. This new "industrial" look is a little disgusting, ecspecialy when Mac OS X is running on it. A "beautiful" looking operating system with an "industrial" looking hardware. They don't comlement eachother.

IMO this industrial look is amazing, it perfectly suits panther style - it's more grayish, isn't it? And the idea with thousands of little holes in the case - really great. I was trying to imagine how would the succesor of G4 look but with no success - Apple just killed me with this new one! G4 was kinda 'plastic', G5 is 'full-metal-jacket', it look reaaaally serious to me. :woot:

And the monitor........hmm! Beautiful, no matter if it's fake!

The G5 had to have many holes, so that air could circulate easily. And the metallic case enhances cooling of the interior. It's the best that could be accomplished, considering the needs of the new processor.

In terms of pure design though, the G4s are much better (and the Cinema Display, of course). The handles, plastic cover and curves, indicate a case that wants to be touched and held, yet the "whiteness" reminds you that it's not a common computer.

OK, now everyone take a guess about how the next iMac is gonna be.

The thing is, comparing the design of the G4 and G5 is exactly like comparing minimalism to industrialism, as design styles - different people like different things... Personally, I like a mixture of the two... I prefer the G5 and the monitor shown here to the G4 and the current range of monitors, but I that's not to say that I don't like the G4... I must admit, however, that were I given a choice between a current iMac and the old G4 towers, I'd choose the iMac...

I'd still like to know if that monitor is just something that's been made up in Photoshop, or if it's something that's going to be made (even if it's not made by Apple)... I want one... But then, I also want a G5 case to put my PC in

I like the white because it looks simple and sleek, while the metal maybe look sleek.. to me it just looks so disoriented.

the monitor (i hope) is photoshoped. it`s just YUCK! But the G5 itself is like.... arghhhhhhh [drooling]. I went to the Apple store and i kept petting the damn thing, it`s that beautifull!!! it`s 10 times more beautifull than on the pics. And is it fast? U BET UR SWEET AS$!!! i`m on the edge of (first i hv to earn lots of cahs ) of buying a G5! I wish i had more money :shy: :cry:
