Since there are already 2 working on this project, accept this as a temporary solution:
Download an icon set and the UpdateIcons program from my page:
http://www.oxygen-inc.com/kenx/
It's not a actually a docklet but can be used in docks or samurize.
Thanks Ken for the temp. solution! Just one thing tho...I modified the reg file like instructed and alland put the .exe file on the dock. When i click on the on the dock icon nothing happens. Am I missing a step here?

The .exe just replaces the icon whenever you run it... it should be run when you turn on your computer or at midnight.
In the dock, you can assign this icon to any program you like (outlook, for example).

speaking of which ken, ive downloaded your paper ical icons (GREAT WORK WITH ALL THE ICONS before i forget) then i made a copy of the ical docklet and replaced the icons, then went to the ini and replaced the .PNG (uppercase) to .png cause your icons are made with lowercase extension...
The problem is that i dont get anything showing, its like it has an invisible icon and the date, instead of sayng thursday 9 october or whatever, i get 9/9/03
What can i do? am i doing something wrong? am i missing something?
Im uning yzdock v 081 btw...

Nice one! I like versatile docklets that let you place text, rotate it etc. Don't forget to add two colour settings for month and date.

For sure, my icons don't interfere with the format of your date (9/9/03 etc) 
I don't think though that lowercase or uppercase extension could cause a problem. Not sure...
Works fantastic glad to see it anyway to link it to a web calander

Guys, could you make that one-icon docklet be switchable to good ol' per-day iconsets? I mean, I just wanna make some custom icons for holidays and stuff, and different colors for months, too. This would be a nice docklet option for me.

Ken tried this one and tried to make some icons but docklet messed up the icons he made. i`m waiting for judge`s or albek`s iCal docklet (actually using albeik`s right now - works like a charm!

To push the customisation to the extreme, you should allow for changing the format of the label, too. "Sunday 12/10/2003", "Sunday" or whatever.

But, you can use any icon (like Ken's blank ones) and to make it still look good, you can change the font, font size, font style, font color, font rotation and font alignment of both the day and the month text. You can also change the icon label using any format string from here. Also you can make it run any application on a single click (and, because I'm anal about these things, you can set the start directory for that application).
You can do all of this by right-clicking on the icon and selecting Dock Item Properties. No messing with .ini files here.
Perhaps more importantly in the long run, is now that I can do all of this, I can do it for other docklets too.

It does that already. I've changed mine to "%A, %d %B %Y - %I:%M %p" which shows as "Monday-13 October 2003-02:59 PM"
