[help] Os X Sounds For Windows

My friend Lindy was kind enough to send me some sounds off his Mac's OS X for me to use on Windows. Problem is that I have never heard these sounds in use before so I have absolutely no idea what they should represent. If you could please tell me how they should be used (example: Sosumi => Error) then I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a list of what he sent me and yes I plan to convert them to .wav.

Been to that site. Found nothing that had to do with sounds. Besides, I would like to do my own theme from scratch (the only way I will learn).

Thank you DrEaMs In DiGiTaL but could someone with OS X confirm how accurate those sounds are? I distinctly recall hearing most of these as OS 9 sounds.

Well the odd thing is, his site says "Panther sounds" and the ones I listed above are Jaguar sounds. The reason why his sounds nothing like mine could be because they are Panther sounds. Then again they could just be OS 8-9 sounds.

Those are Jaguar sounds. They are playable in windows quicktime player and still sound accurate.

here is a pic from my OS X jaguar sound control panel

in osx you dont assign a sound for each event, instead you pick a system wide sound for everything (OS X is very quiet, no login, minimize max, restore windows sounds at all).

The default in OS X 10.2 is "Funk", the Trash has a similar emptying sound to windows and i would recomend this sound http://homepage.mac.com/n10248/startup.wav as you startup / login sound as this is the sound that is heard when a mac is swithed on.

N10248 proved that the ones on Iceman's page are totally boo boo. The ones given to me have the exact same names at the one in that screen capture and few share names with the one on that site. Of the ones that do however, they sound different so I have no idea how he could call them that.
