[help]icon Converting Problem

Has anyone had this problem?

SOmetimes with icon sushi, when i convert a png (usally one that i have made or modified in photshop) the ico turns out damaged, as if some pieces had been jagged...

Sorry i dont have a screenshot of it but maybe someone is familiar and knows why...

Any good practices that need to be followed in makinga png in PS?

Do you mean that the edges of the icons seem to be jagged? That usually happens because you are downsizing the original image of size 128x128 to other smaller sizes (48x48, etc).

If you want to get better looking icons (smoother edges) from your images, you should use Axialis Iconworkshop instead. There is a function to adjust the smoothness/sharpness of the smaller sized icons.

Yes, there is a function to batch convert images (PNGs, jpgs, etc) to ICO format. Shortcut key: Shift+Ctrl+C

There's also a function to directly import your work from Photoshop (if, like me, you are using Photoshop to create your images).

The Help section of the program is extremely useful. They are basically the same as the ones you'll find over at the program website's tutorial section.
