Mac-like Menus In Gnome

Okay, so this page hasn't been updated at all, and doesn't have any support for Gnome 2.0 but its still a cool thing. I wish the author would update it for Gnome 2.0, even if it doesn't have metacity support i'd still use it. It's a good example of what *could* be done to make Gnome even better.

It seems like quite a lot of patching involved though, I wish something like this was native in gnome panel while running a window manager that has Global Menus :)

the website hasn't been modified in a year.. I wouldn't hold my breath

Over a year.

How depressing, I want that feature.

Yeah, thats what I was saying. It's pretty sad to see it go without updates. I can still hope though maybe. Anything is possible in the world of linux really. I mean if I had enough time and energy I could fix the patch up for Gnome 2.0, but I just don't have the time.

I learned a little bit awhile back (not enough to say I knew it) and never finished learning it. So basically I'd have to relearn what I forgot and a ton more if I was to get into it. I don't have time for it though right now. It'd be nice if there was more people who saw the benefits of making Global Menus like this guy did and had the time to finish the project. :)

the API has changed a lot from GTK1 to GTK2, I started cloning the OS X dock for gnome but I am stuck in a couple of issues and as you I don't have much time.. work, kids, wife, more work and some more work.
