My Windows Xp Pro, Slowly Losing Functions?

I admit I've reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP a good 3 dozen times give or take a few, and it seems like it loses things occasionally...

Like some buttons on the taskbar don't open when I click, etc.

I dont know what to do, but I am fed up with it all >_:(

the old vaudeville joke:

Doctor: So what seems to be the matter?

Patient: It hurts when I move move my leg. What should I do?

Doctor: Dont move your leg stupid.

But in all seriousness, could you be more specific? That doesnt sound like normal behavior, even for Windows.

Buttons on the taskbar? Like you click on a program and it never launches? That could be a problem with the program itself.

I've noticed that too, It seems like sometimes I re-install Windows XP and it starts up w/ a differant default config.

I hate it when Windows wont launce an App, The is no good reason why it should do that, I AM SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW!!!

[sARCASM] Macs are perfrect though [/sARCASM]

Ever thought it might be a hardware problem... your memory, for instance?

Use win2k with service pack 4 :)

Ok its not as easy to have it look like OSX, but it is very stable, with almost no bugs.

I still recommend COMPLETELY formatting the drive (clean install). After backing up, of course.

The last time I re-installed XP (NOT complete format), it retained the modded dll files, so I'm guessing that's the case with your machine as well..
