[help] Could Anyone Help Me Do This?

hello community! hows it going?!

i have a favor to ask you guys... how can i make a that a connection dials to the internet as soon as the computer starts?

For some strange reason my DSL needs to be "started" byu a weird dialpup thing that calls p0,50, its just a one click process and it connects automatically but its a pain in the Aeyes... ;) to dial this thing everytime i log in, plus the trillian cannot check your memebership status windwos is quite annoying...

something lieke a bat file?

Cheers guys

Any help would be more than appreciated!

There's an app to do this that I use. However, it's a French app, entirely in French. I don't believe there's an English version.

But if you speak French, or want to learn ;) then http://www.adslautoconnect.net/ is where to look.

Good luck.

Buy a router and set PPP over Ethernet and input ur ADSL connection details, VIOLA! You'll be connected to the net as long as u keep ur router on (I never off it :P)

if its an app that connects you through dialup, make a shortcut to that app, and add it to your startup folder on your start menu, that way whenever you turn on your puter, that app will connect you the net, or whatever it needs to do.

Hmm i just downloaded AutoUp and when i run it the command opens for a sec and it automatically closes... ive tried it a couple of times.. same crap....

Thanx tough, looked very prmissing in the site (this is kind of what i want, virtually NO more resources used at startup... i hate the time it takes to start up!)

Cheers guys...

you have to open up the command promp from the start menu, or run>command, and run it through the command window, or drag the exe to the open window and hit return.

hmm i got it to work but its a bit dodgy... i dont get it to run on startup.... :6 >.:(

Any help with that?

You coud just use rasdial (included with windows xp) and using the windows task scheduler set it to run at system startup.

To check the rasdial parameters open a command prompt and type "rasdial /?"

The last one I *knew* worked, this one I'm just taking a stab in the dark, you could make a bat file that called rasdial and then trillian, and call the bat from the task scheduler... sounds like it could work, but I'm not 100% sure.
